Nanchang University

Nanchang University is a national university situated in central China in Jiangxi province in the Provincial capital of Nanchang which is south of the Yangtze River. Jiangxi is famous as the home of porcelain (china).

Nanchang University consists of five campuses: Qian-Hu Main campus; Qingshan-Hu; Dong-Hu; Poyang-Hu and Fuzhou campus.

It main campus is located at Qian-Hu, Nanchang and it occupies an area of 300 hectares and is the campus where all the undergraduate student, the majority of graduate students, most research institutes and labs and most faculty and staff are based. The other campus are situated around Jiangxi province.

NCU has a disciplinary system featured by coordinated development of art, science, medicine and engineering. It, currently, runs 113 undergraduate programs covering 12 disciplines, 8 disciplines and 64 sub-disciplines which confer Ph.D. degrees, 45 disciplines which confer master degrees, 8 post-doctoral research stations, In addition, NCU boasts 1 national key laboratory, 1 national engineering technology research center, 2 national key disciplines,1 key humanity and social science research base of Ministry of Education, 3 grade a class-three hospitals.

NCU adheres to the concept of depending on talents cultivation, integrating education and research, absorbing all resources and pursuing the supreme good to promote practice. It sticks to the education philosophy of admiration of morality and competence and integration of knowledge and practice. NCU boasts 12738 postgraduates of all kinds and 72466 full-time undergraduate and 3-year students (with the main campus accommodating 37858 undergraduates). NCU has established stable relationship of exchange and cooperation, with more than nearly 60universities, scientific research institutions from 30 countries (regions) and also established Confucius Institute at the University of Poitiers in France and Hasanuddin University of Indonesia. Since its establishment, the school has trained a total of about 400000 talents, and made important contribution to the national and local economic construction and social progress.
